Program Overview
Energistics' 2010 Intern Program is an outstanding opportunity for petroleum engineering, geophysics and information technology students. Participation would allow them to be immersed in the development, maintenance and deployment of data exchange standards in the upstream oil and natural gas industry. Two positions will be available in Energistics' Houston office.
About Energistics
Energistics is a global, not-for-profit industry consortium. Our mission is to facilitate a neutral collaboration environment and an inclusive user community for the development, deployment and maintenance of open data exchange standards. These freely-available, standards-based, collaborative technologies deliver technological, computing, data management and process solutions to the upstream oil and natural gas industry. Energistics membership consists of integrated, independent and national oil companies, oilfield service companies, hardware and software vendors, systems integrators, regulatory agencies and the global standards user community.
Duration
The 2010 Intern Program will commence on 7th June 2010 and run for 10 consecutive weeks until 13th August 2010. Some schedule adjustments are allowable based on specific school year requirements. The work schedule will be Monday through Friday 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The last day to apply will be 1st April 2010.
Scope
This program provides the opportunity for hands-on experience and training in the Energistics mission of facilitation of standards development, maintenance and deployment and will include, but not be limited to, tasks such as; participation in collaborative technology development, data exchange standards maintenance, XML code development, assisting with program and project management, website content maintenance, and open standards community activities.
