The Energistics Consortium will host a virtual interactive testing session, which is informally referred to as an “ILAB.” The purpose of this ILAB is to:
- Test the implementations of ETP v1.2 clients and servers.
- Further the development of the ETP v1.2 Conformance Testing Tool, which will be an important part of the ETP v1.2 Certification Program.
People from Energistics member-companies are invited to attend, test their software, and contribute to the discussion.
Previously, ILABs were held as part of the Energistics Sessions at The Open Group Summit, as joint in-person and virtual events. This ILAB will be all virtual, held before the Summit.

In-person attendees at the ILAB held virtually and in Houston, October 2024.
Event Details:
When: April 24, 2025 (Thursday), 7:00AM to 12:00 noon, CDT (Houston time)
Where: Online. The meeting has been set up as a regular Energistics WebEx meeting, so it appears on the Energistics calendar in the Collaboration Center.
Who: Programmers, Software Developers, Architects, etc.
Connect with your technical developer peers for one-to-one testing of ETP v1.2 servers and clients—with an Energistics data model data, such as WITSML v2.1, RESQML v2.2 or PRODML v2.3.
This is a very informal session, where people connect to test, based on the specific software they have available. For example, one member is looking to connect with someone with an ETP v1.2 server that runs Protocol 22 (ChannelDataLoad). Pre-work will be done before the event, so that attendees have an idea of who is participating and what will be available to test. Those communications will happen on the Energistics Certification Slack Channel.
The event will also include a session about furthering the development of the ETP v1.2 Conformance Testing Tool, which is an open-source client application being developed by the community. When the time for this session is determined, it will be posted in Slack.
To attend and participate in the ILAB, you must:
- Be an employee or contractor for an Energistics member company, with an email address from the member company. Link to list of member companies
- Have claimed your individual Energistics credentials so that you have access to necessary resources such as GitLab. Link to Energistics Onboarding Instructions
- Post on the Energistics-Certification Slack channel that you plan to attend the ILAB (and what hours, if you wish) and WATCH for updates on the Slack Channel. (Program updates, request for available test server credentials and login information, etc. will all be posted on the Slack Channel.)
We hope to see you there!
